Maharashtra Environmental Engineering Training and Research Academy (MEETRA) is a key Water Supply and Sanitation sector training institute in Maharashtra. MEETRA is conducting various trainings & workshops for State Government Departments and Institutions, Private sector, NGOs. Recently MEETRA is appointed as National Level KRC (Key Resource Center) for providing trainings in NJJM (National Jal Jeevan Mission) for entire country.
MEETRA is already well ahead with the use of various innovative Information Technology tools for it’s routine training and research activities. As part of it MEETRA recently successfully developed and implemented state-of-the-art Web-Portal and Online E-learning System. MEETRA is having it’s own library in it’s campus. There are certain limitations of physical library. Access to this library is limited to only persons who can physically visit that library.
Libraries are the storehouse of knowledge as they maintain the book and other knowledge resource available - mostly in printed form. However, with the advent of digital technology and Internet connectivity, the library scenario is changing fast. Digital technology, Internet connectivity and physical content can be dovetailed resulting in Digital Library. Data available in physical form has been preserved digitally in Digital Library. Digital Libraries have the ability to enhance access to information and knowledge. They also Bridge barriers of time and space.
Considering these factors, MEETRA initiating this State-of-the-art Digital Library / e-Library for various stake-holders in the field of Water, Sanitation & Environment.
